Adventures With Microscopes
The Microscope, an indispensable instrument, in science, industry and art will be explored in this hands-on workshop. Students will have full access to our huge array of microscope systems and lab equipment and the necessary basics will be covered in the instrument's effective use. From there participants will explore the Bioreserve to gather and bring back a variety of specimens to prepare and observe using a combination of stereo, upright and inverted compound microscopes. A tip-of-the-iceberg survey will allow the observer to peer into the world of the very tiny inhabitants of the ponds, streams, and soil environments that literally surround us.
